Sleep Scoring Rules
1. How Scores Are Calculated
Sleep scores are calculated based on the following factors:
- Sleep duration
- Bedtime regularity
- Nighttime interruptions
A higher score indicates that your sleep is closer to an ideal state.
If sleep data from Apple Watch or Apple Health is detected, the system uses a more comprehensive three-component scoring model.
If no Watch sleep data is available, the system estimates your score based on recorded sleep duration and sleep schedule regularity.
2. When Watch Data Is Available
The total score is 100 points, composed of 3 components:
1. Sleep Duration (50 points)
Calculated based on total sleep duration.
The closer your sleep duration is to the adequate sleep range, the higher your score.
2. Bedtime Regularity (30 points)
Calculated based on how closely last night's bedtime aligns with your recent average bedtime.
- The smaller the deviation, the higher your score
- Larger deviations from late bedtimes result in more noticeable deductions
- Early bedtimes generally have a relatively minor impact
3. Sleep Interruptions (20 points)
Calculated based on the number of times you wake up during the night.
- Fewer awakenings
- More continuous sleep
- Higher score
3. When No Watch Data Is Available
The total score is still displayed out of 100 points, but uses a two-component estimate:
1. Sleep Duration (65 points)
Score calculated based on total sleep duration.
2. Bedtime Regularity (35 points)
Calculated based on how closely last night's bedtime aligns with your recent average sleep schedule.
Since there is no Watch sleep stage or interruption data, the system does not calculate a "Sleep Interruptions" component.
4. Sleep Rating Levels
The system classifies sleep performance into 5 rating levels based on the total score:
| Rating | Score |
|---|---|
| Very High | 90 and above |
| High | 75–89 |
| Average | 60–74 |
| Low | 40–59 |
| Very Low | 0–39 |
5. Notes
Sleep scores reflect the quality of the sleep data itself.
It may not fully align with your subjective feeling upon waking, so the app separately retains your "sleep feeling" records to help you gain a more comprehensive understanding of your sleep state.
